Contemporary leather-backed blue paper-covered boards. Condition : 2 plates inserted from another copy of the work, occasional browning; bindings partly worn away to reveal original marbled paper boards, spines with some chipping.
published as a popular introduction for young readers to the various trades, this work proved to be one of tabart’s most successful publications, frequently reprinted, pirated and imitated . Parts (volumes) I and II are third editions, with the second ("New") edition of Part III. The set was originally issued with only 59 plates in 1805. The designs added in this edition include professions pertaining chiefly to women: straw-hat maker, lace-maker, milliner, ladies dress-maker, &c. Moon Tabart Appendex A; Osborne 110 (third edition, 1806-7, lacking 2 plates).
