first american edition of this schwenkfelder church catechism , reprinted in Philadelphia (1784) and Shippackville (1855) as Kurze Fragen uber die christliche Glaubens-Lehre . This sect were followers of Kaspar Schwenkfeld (1489-1561), a number of whom had fled to America in the years 1734, and established a community in what is now known as Schwenksville. The present work was published in 1763, in 1782, the Society of Schwenkfelders was formed, and in 1909 the Schwenkfelder Church was incorporated. Evans 9512; Rosenbach 51.
