an impressive collection of lithographs of poetry and drawings by the Imaginists all in their hands. Although at first glance, this hand-written pamphlet might be mistaken for a Futurist book, the Imaginists distanced themselves from this other Russian avant-garde movement. Their work is characterized by streams of metaphors. Esenin was the school's most famous member. Lunacharsky of course headed the Commissariat of Enlightenment and Pasternak went on to write Doctor Zhivago (1957). MoMA 260; Hellyer 27.
