Children's book author Kay Thompson collaborated with illustrator Hilary Knight to produce the popular series Eloise. After completing the series, Thompson worked with fashion illustrator Joe Eula to publish an additional children's book, Miss Pooky Peckinpaugh (1970).
"Leaving Town Hall after an evening with Mabel Mercer, I see Kay Thompson hailing a taxi. Knowing Korby knew her, I begged her to introduce me, and then, crazy as I am, I asked Miss Thompson if she would sing, for me, a few lines of her knockout number from Funny Face, 'Think Pink'. She not only sang a few lines, she stood there in the middle of 43th Street, horns blowing, people frozen in their tracks, and belted out the entire tune". -- Burt Britton (3)
