NESS, Evaline (1911 - 1986) A pair of sketchbooks 1) Sketchbook featuring elaborate watercolor, pen and ink architectural designs that appear to be for Charles Scribner's To Cut Out and Color series designed by Evaline Ness. Hand written preliminary instructions for constructing, coloring and decorating the paper houses are among the drawings.
2) Sketchbook dated 1949 on the front cover and the artists name and New York City residence hand inscribed in blue ink in front of the title page. Pen and ink drawings of houses and the female body are featured throughout.
