a drawing motivated by a true event at the university of alabama. This drawing recalls the February 6, 1956 event in which Autherine J. Lucy, the first Black student at the University, was attacked by rioters in her car. Suspended from school “to protect her safety,” Autherine attempted to fight the ruling in court and her case was eventually dismissed and she was permanently expelled.
